These are anxiety-provoking times. We don’t know what’s going to happen next to our health, our finances, our education, our work, our economy, our community, our loved ones and those most vulnerable in our society. Once we have done everything we can to make the best of the situation, we are left with ourselves and our worries. Worrying and feeling fearful, we know, is not helpful. In fact, it can make us ill.
Putting our anxieties and what perplexes us down on the page helps us digest and process what’s happening in our lives. The Life Righting Collective has created an online creative writing course to help you access the healing power of writing during these times – a creative space where we explore and discover aspects of ourselves we didn’t know we didn't know, along with the satisfaction of uncovering new ways of seeing ourselves through the writing process and, in so doing, finding a way to feel better about our lives.
The course comprises 16 downloadable audio sessions. Most modules will require you to write so please set aside 30-60 minutes per module. You’ll learn about:
Once you’ve completed any LRC course and have joined our membership mailing list, you’re eligible to be invited via email to monthly follow-up writing groups. These are held each month in various members’ homes and online. The idea is that you bring a piece you’re working on, to read and get constructive feedback on from the rest of the group. You’re also able to give your own feedback to others.
We’ve found that nothing else hones your writing practice quite like having a follow-up gathering (FUG) to look forward to and prepare for. It’s a great way to meet people whom you would not necessarily come across, and get to know each other in creative and inspiring ways. and join a community of life righting writers.
Hope to see you at a FUG soon!
We invite you to join the Life Righting Collective’s online Creative Writing Course and join a community of life righting writers. We’ve priced it generously so the course is accessible to as many people as possible.
