Annette Snyckers is a visual artist and published poet, who grew up in Pretoria and has lived in Cape Town for many years. She studied English, French and German Literature at Pretoria University. She was a teacher and translator before later studying Fine Art at UNISA. She speaks three languages every day and writes in English, Afrikaans and German. She enjoys the access this gives her to the quaintness and quirks of a wide variety of people and cultures. The happiest times are spent in nature, in front of an easel painting, making things by hand, listening to music, writing, reading, gardening, walking, just looking at the world and being with pets and loved ones.
