Tracy Bailey Smith was born in the Eastern Cape in the 1960’s. Her grandmothers, sister and Grade One teacher were influential in shaping her formative years. A true child of KwaZulu-Natal; it is where she feels her roots are, where she feels at home. She lived in Cape Town during some of the turbulent 1980’s; where she studied Physiotherapy at UCT. Working with children with special needs has been her calling. Her practice has expanded to include work with adults with neurological and movement difficulties. Gifted with a typewriter as a young adult, Tracy always felt the need to write but has only recently begun to earnestly develop this aspect of self-expression. Married with children, being a mother is one of her greatest privileges. Family remain her anchors and friends are important to her. Her faith is a significant part of her identity.
