piggott marilyn e1528387198981 150x150 1

Marilyn Pigott was born in 1951 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She was brought up in the Eastern Cape after starting school in Zambia, and later moved to Cape Town in 1968 to study Architecture. Scholarships took her to London where she met her Swiss partner and then moved to Geneva. Much traveling ensued over 25 years, primarily in sub-Saharan African countries, the Balkans and central and eastern Europe. An intuitive musician, she experienced the profoundly healing power of music following the death of her partner in 2009. Her memoir writing explores this further. She is the founder of the Amani Foundation, and is a contributing author to the Life Righting Collective’s This is how it is anthology.
