BIO – DINAH EPPEL

Dinah Eppel was born in 1949 in Johannesburg. Her studies in African Languages at the University of Cape Town changed her path. In Johannesburg, she worked for multiracial theatre, legal aid, and change. She spent eleven years in the USA working as a lawyer in the battered women’s movement until 1994. Back home she became a community activist, and facilitated life skills with school leavers. In the 2010s, she studied African Music, African Dance, and storytelling. She is a storyteller, performer, facilitator, and plays uhadi, the Xhosa musical bow. She values music, dance and the grand healing African worldview with its philosophy of love. Contributing author to the Life Righting Collective’s This is how it is anthology.
