Beauty Bokwani was born in 1966 in Sutherland, South Africa, where she grew up. Later she moved to Cape Town to study, working in hotels, at Woolworths. but mostly as a volunteer, before opening an educare and youth development centre. She studied Early Childhood Development at the College of Cape Town. Her writing is inspired by injustice, abuse, racism and poverty. She believes in the healing power of the written word, and uses her writing skills to show children in pain how to overcome it. She loves going to the beach, walking, singing, dancing, expressing herself through poetry and writing as well as art.
