Allan Lange was born in Bredasdorp and spent his childhood in small towns like Graaff-Reinet, Oudtshoorn and Bedford where his father followed the career of a country bank accountant/manager. He has lived primarily in Cape Town, at boarding school, at university and as a high school teacher and lawyer, since 1973. When he is able to avoid life’s drudgery, he enjoys pursuits espoused by the Greek philosopher, Epicurus. In his writing, he attempts to make sense of his journey so far and to identify those people and experiences that have contributed to his life’s meaning. Allan is a contributing author to the Life Righting Collective’s This is how it is anthology.
